What is Malware?

Malware simply means malicious software. Malware is a term that encompasses all malicious code including viruses, trojans, spyware, dialers, and everything in between. People always talk about anti virus scanners but there are very few real viruses in the wild. Most of the problems people encounter are actually other forms of malware.

 Can my anti virus scanner detect malware?

Yes and no. Your anti virus scanner may detect viruses and trojans well but may not detect more common infections of spyware and other malicious software. We suggest using an antivirus program that can detect all forms of malware. In some cases you may need a seperate specialised anti malware program as protection.
